Business ethics can be an extraordinary subject and particularly challenging when you are the person facing a dilemma situation. ‘Doing the right thing’ may be more challenging than doing nothing or hoping the issue will just go away.
In addition to the content on our site which we hope will prove useful to you, we have assembled a list of links to other online sources of information. Given the universal nature both of the web and the subject matter of business ethics, many of the links are international.
Feel free to contact us with more links, maybe to your organisation or others you are aware of, perhaps explaining why you find them useful.
As a registered charity, extracts from our legal documents describe EBENI as a voluntary, charitable body founded with ambitions including:
- Promoting all aspects of business ethics and of conducting business with integrity
- Supporting business ethics teaching; education of the business community and the public
- Holding seminars, conferences and meetings with the aim of providing a forum and source of advice for organisations and individuals from all walks of life
- Maintaining a website promoting good business ethics and informing about events, research and publications
- Promoting research and events in ethics related areas such as Corporate Governance, Corporate Integrity, Corporate Reputation and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Fostering good relations with like minded bodies in Ireland and overseas and promoting appropriate collaboration particularly within the EBEN network
- Maintaining contacts with the local business communities and other parties who are interested in the ethical dimensions of business
- Highlighting the benefits arising from ‘ethical businesses’ and the advantages of good organisational behaviour in Ireland and overseas
- Supporting research conducted by companies, institutions and private persons that pursue objectives similar to those pursued by EBENI
- Promoting the activities of groups interested in business ethics
Consequently, as our aim is also to be as helpful, informative and collaborative as possible (some of the cornerstones of admirable business ethics include fairness, collaboration and co-operation as opposed to unnecessary competition which often only satisfies pride and ego) we would welcome all content or suggestions for content including new links which visitors to the http://www.eben.ie site may find interesting and useful, professionally and personally!
